Information Sessions

In partnership with Emploi-Québec, Le Trait d'union offers information sessions to employment insurance beneficiaries who live in the West-Island, Saint-Laurent, Côtes-des-Neiges or Notre-Dame-de-Grâce areas.

Following personalized directives issued by Emploi-Québec, participants attend an information session about job search. These sessions explain the diverse programs and services offered by Emploi-Québec as well as organisations available to help them.

Through individual and group exercises, participants can, among others, identify their skills and strengths to be able to write a résumé which corresponds to their profile. Other pertinent aspects which are addressed during these sessions include; the information interview, networking and contact strategies with potential employers. These sessions serve to help participants prepare to have access to a job interview.

During the information sessions, participants receive explanations about the labour market, including requirements and constraints. Finally, due to the growing number of employers and job seekers who utilize information technologies, the effective use of the internet, as a tool, during the job search process is also addressed.
