The Passeport-Emploi Program

Following the request of Emploi-Québec, the Passeport-emploi is a program initiated through the Employment Services measure.

The program is a tool, used by employment counsellors, namely, those affiliated to the Démarcheurs d'emploi program, which allows a person to enhance their skill set related to a potential employment opportunity.

The Passeport-emploi is composed of many inter-related parts:

  • The person's identification;
  • Identification and enhancement of a person's skills;
  • Complementary tools; (business card, curriculum vitae, etc.)
  • Assistance offered by Emploi-Québec.

In the scope of services offered by Emploi-Québec, the Passeport-emploi offers an alternative for clients who may encounter different situations, such as:

  • The candidate has little or no work experience, making it difficult to strengthen his/her profile solely through a résumé;
  • The client has performed many jobs that, at first sight, appear to be insignificant to the professional objective aimed at;
  • The person has some appropriate skills and suitable work experience, but the transferable value is inadequate in the specific aimed at job market.

The success of Passeport-emploi requires the person's implication in his/her approach to the specialized organization. In this sense, the client's responsibility relates to the following:

  • Participation in activities required to explore his/her inner self, personally as well as professionally;
  • Cooperation to provide the organization with useful information for the success of Passeport-emploi;
  • Appropriation of the Passeport-emploi content in order for this tool to enhance his/her gains in job seeking and his/her contacts with employers.
